Our Academies & Services
Spiral Partnership Trust is a learning community which includes seven primary schools and out of school clubs. We also support the delivery of special needs support across the local area through DSPL7. We provide an interesting and engaging education to 1800 pupils and wider services to families in our local communities.
Spiral Partnership Trust aims to expand to take advantage of the efficiencies and economies of scale that can be achieved by growth but will remain small enough to be people focused, thus balancing the efficiencies of size with the stability and capacity to ensure sustained improvement. We work closely with Herts for Learning and are an active part of all local networks and partnerships, putting us at the heart of the Hertfordshire family of schools.

The curriculum offers a rich programme of personal development, alongside the foundational skills and knowledge needed to prepare children for their next stage of learning. Our extensive school grounds are used for creative outdoor play, as well as supporting our curriculum learning. We believe in life-long learning for all, and that our children demonstrate this, alongside our other school values of kindness, belonging and being involved : the qualities needed in our society.

DSPL is a Hertfordshire-wide partnership approach where parents, carers, staff in early years settings and schools, further education colleges, local authority officers and representatives from other agencies, work together as part of an Area Group to ensure that there is a range of provision and support services available in their local community. There are nine DSPL Area Groups across the county that meet regularly to discuss what services are available and to influence how services are shaped and developed to ensure the children and young people with SEND in their area receive the right support in their educational activities.
DSPL7 covers the areas of St Albans and Harpenden, including the surrounding villages of Kimpton, Wheathampstead, Redbourn, Colney Heath, London Colney, Park Street and Bricket Wood. Schools and families can access DSPL7 services if they live in these areas or have children who attend a school in DSPL7. All our services are fully funded.
